AVIA Statement on Governor Newsom's Veto of AB 3061

This weekend California Governor Gavin Newsom announced he vetoed Assembly Bill 3061. See below for a statement from Jeff Farrah, CEO of the Autonomous Vehicle Industry Association:

“We commend Governor Newsom for vetoing AB 3061, which would have created contradictory and duplicative standards and threatened to hold back autonomous vehicles’ safety and accessibility benefits in California. Public trust in AVs is essential, which is why the AV industry is committed to continued transparency and collaborative engagement with officials and the public."
