Cruise Joins The Self-Driving Coalition
Washington, D.C. - The Self-Driving Coalition welcomed Cruise as its newest member, joining the leading technology, rideshare and automotive companies in the autonomous vehicle (AV) industry. The Coalition brings together a unique and varied set of AV voices representative of self-driving technology’s many opportunities.
The Self-Driving Coalition was founded in 2016 to work with lawmakers, regulators and the public to bring the vision of self-driving technology to America’s roads. AVs offer an extraordinary opportunity to improve safety, revolutionize mobility and reshape how goods and passengers move from point A to B. Expanding beyond its original members, the Coalition includes Argo AI, Aurora, Ford, Lyft, Nuro, Uber, Volvo Cars and Waymo.
“The Self-Driving Coalition is excited to have Cruise onboard,” said Ariel Wolf, Counsel to the Coalition. “Their work to provide contactless self-driving deliveries to San Francisco’s underserved communities during the pandemic is a perfect example of why Cruise is a key partner in demonstrating the transformative value of self-driving technology. We’re looking forward to working together with federal, state and local policymakers and other stakeholders on the right policy solutions for AVs.”
“Cruise believes that all-electric, fully self-driving fleets have the potential to transform cities and empower people to connect to the places and experiences they care about,” said Rachelle Celebrezze, Senior Manager of Government Affairs at Cruise. “We look forward to working with the Coalition to drive forward their mission to bring this life-saving technology to the world.”
